Bracing

In the video below, Dr. Jay Heintz with League City Chiropractic and Sports Medicine and Maurice with Gazelle Bracing discuss the use of a back brace for herniated discs, severe pain and unstable backs.  Maurice points out that this particular brace, called the Ninja Pro from Bledsoe, stabilizes the spine from the midthoracic spine all the way down to the coccyx. That means it gives stability from just above the small of your back all the way down to the bottom of your tailbone. This particular brace is extremely adjustable in that it allows a single pulley strap to fit to a variety of sizes, shapes and hip configurations. Dr. Heintz noted that in their office, they have noticed that this particular brace does a better job at fitting a variety of patients than any other brace they have used. With its pulley adjusting system, the Ninja Pro has been used in Dr. Heintz’s office to fit patients ranging in size from wide hips with a prominent butt all the way down to skinny patients with no butt at all.  Maurice goes on to point out that typically the brace will be worn for a set period of time prescribed by your doctor, but removed for your physical therapy exercises and strengthening exercises. He noted that this brace is washable, and Dr. Heintz concludes that the brace is great for severe pain, and a good option to be used between other treatments.
