Acupuncture for Auto Accident Injuries

In this video, Dr. Michael Dow of, Texan Wellness Center in Texas City, Texas, discusses how he treats auto accident injuries with the use of acupuncture and soft tissue techniques.  Dr. Dow stated that acupuncture can be used to decrease pain and muscle spasm.  He noted that often times acupuncture has almost immediate results.  When there is decreased muscle spasm, it will increase the body’s ability to heal and shorten the entire length of treatment necessary.  Dr. Dow  also states patients who have been in auto accidents suffer with increased anxiety and depression related to not only their pain, but the pain and suffering that was caused to a loved one who might have been in the vehicle with them.  Dr. Dow discusses how acupuncture can be used to alter brain chemistry, specifically increasing serotonin levels.  This can be used to help decrease depression and anxiety, which will allow for faster healing.
