Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Matthias Wiederholz

When you or a loved one is injured, the only thing that matters is that you get the best care possible. With multiple board certifications under his belt, the best option is Dr. Wiederholz and Performance Pain & Sports Medicine. His primary specialty is Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation which makes him an expert in handling your orthopedic recovery. He is also board-certified in Pain Medicine as well as Sports Medicine. These additional certifications mean that Dr. Wiederholz is an expert at minimally-invasive procedures to get you feeling well again quickly. Dr. Wiederholz received his medical training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey. He completed his residency training at Baylor College of Medicine here in Houston, Texas where he served as chief resident. He then went on to complete fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management and Sports Medicine in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Wiederholz is an avid teacher through his various fellowship programs and by teaching courses to students learning advanced pain management procedures. Dr. Suzanne Manzi

Born and raised at the Jersey Shore, Dr. Manzi played NCAA Division I Basketball for the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine/ UT Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Alliance in 2009, followed by a fellowship at Michigan State University in 2010. She is now triple board certified in PM&R, Pain Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She started Performance Pain and Sports Medicine in 2016, and her state of the art practice offers comprehensive Pain Medicine.

Dr. Manzi has been voted “Houston’s Top Doctors” by Houstonia magazine both in 2016 and 2017. Her goals are to continue to optimize patient’s function and decrease pain after any setback, such as accident or injury, utilizing her advanced training and diagnostic skills. She also continues on board as faculty at the University of Texas in the department of PM&R and serves as a consultant, educating other physicians around the country.
