Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Darin Mitchell
Dr. Darin J. Mitchell graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Chiropractic College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic. After graduation he spent the next 3 years performing histories and physical exams for a prominent neurosurgeon, while concomitantly starting his private practice. It was during this specialty medical training where he discovered the large gap between traditional therapies and surgery for many pain sufferers. Many challenging patients achieved tremendous relief under Dr. Mitchell’s care for their chronic conditions when other traditional treatments had failed. Their successes were a result of utilizing a comprehensive assessment strategy along with multi-factorial approach of advanced soft tissue techniques, spinal and extremity adjustments, rehabilitative/therapeutic exercises and new technologies (i.e. cold laser, decompression).
Dr. Mitchell’s dedication to solving the tough cases led him into nutrition and functional medicine. He became board eligible with the Diplomate of Chiropractic Internist and certified in Functional Diagnostic Medicine. It was with this training that opened up another level of observation in which to evaluate a patient and new tools to address their symptoms. Those tough cases that did not respond to a mechanical model approach only, responded favorable when their structure, nutritional status, biochemistry and physiology were balanced.
His practice expanded from being primarily musculoskeletal based to a more of a whole body/whole person approach utilizing natural based wellness concepts. This provides patients with the truly next generation of “chiropractic and natural medicine”.
Dr. Kennedy Tyer
Dr. Kennedy Tyer grew up in Kingwood, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and quickly became passionate about the traditions and service to others. He was a part of the American Medical Student Association all four years, was involved in leadership for Student Bonfire his sophomore year and was a Muster Host his senior year. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Business Administration.
Kennedy then traveled to Fort Worth and received a Master of Science for Medical Science at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. After spending a year at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, he went in search of another avenue to impact the healthcare community that offered more attention to the individual’s needs while promoting health and wellness.
Kennedy Tyer had exposure early on in life to the field of chiropractic, with his father being a chiropractor for nearly 30 years in the Houston area. He followed in his father’s footsteps enrolling at Texas Chiropractic College in 2013.
While at the Moody Health Center clinic, he served as a Clinical Teaching Assistant to his attending chiropractor for the students in his group. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating with honors from TCC in April 2016 and was awarded the Student Keeler Award for leadership and service.
Dr. Tyer applies his value of service and commitment to the needs of his patients. He is driven to treat people as individuals, not a collection of symptoms, empowering them to make decisions to positively affect their health.
Dr. Jodi Wilson
Dr. Jodi Wilson grew up in Amarillo, TX where she competed in equestrian competitions from a young age. She became interested in chiropractic after she saw the improvement in her horse’s health and performance after he was treated by an animal chiropractor. She attended Southwestern University and was a member of the volleyball and track teams where she experienced how regular chiropractic care could improve athletic performance. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. During her time in Georgetown, TX she volunteered at the Ride On Center for Kids, or ROCK, which is a therapeutic riding center. They specialized in hippotherapy for everything from ADHD, autism, disabled veterans to stroke patients. It was here that she really found her desire to help others heal.
Dr. Wilson went on to complete her chiropractic education at Texas Chiropractic College where she was involved in many organizations and worked as a Clinical Teaching Assistant to her attending at the Moody Health Center during her internship. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic and graduated Summa Cum Laude and as the valedictorian of her class in April 2016. She has also earned her certification from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, so she can also help the four-legged members of your family.
Dr. Wilson enjoys educating her patients on how to make positive changes in their lifestyle to improve their overall health. She utilizes chiropractic, nutritional advice and supplementation to achieve this goal, and never forgets to treat the whole person. Dr. Wilson is eager to use her skills to help all of her patients reach their optimal health.
